Suspects Sought in Purse Snatching on Marigny Street

Suspects Sought in Purse Snatching on Marigny Street
Two suspects are believed to be responsible for a purse snatching that occurred in the 500 block of Marigny Street in the early hours of June 4, 2017. The NOPD is seeking to locate and identify these individuals.
 
The victims told police that at about 1:30 a.m., they had just exited a ride share vehicle which transported them to the area. Victim #1 stated as Victim #2 was attempting to unlock the door to her apartment, they were approached from the rear by two unknown black males. The subjects reportedly stated, “I’m takin’ this”, and both subjects snatched both victims’ purses and fled the scene heading south on Marigny Street and west on Decatur Street. A cellphone taken in the incident was located briefly near the intersection of North Miro and Music Street using a tracking program, before the signal was lost.

One suspect was described as a black male with a dark complexion and believed to be between 30 and 35 years of age, standing approximately 6’0” and weighing about 180 pounds. He was also described as having a low haircut, being clean shaven and wearing a white sleeveless t-shirt and dark colored pants.
 
The second subject was described as a black with a dark complexion and believed to be between 30 and 35 years of age, standing about 6’0” and weighting about 150 pounds. He was also described as having a low haircut, being clean shaven and wearing a black hooded jacket.
