Suspect Wanted in Theft on Canal Street

Suspect Wanted in Theft on Canal Street

The NOPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect believed to be responsible for a theft on June 21, 2017 in the 300 block of Canal Street.

At about 12:30 p.m., the pictured individual was seen bumping into the victim in the lobby of the business. As the suspect fled the scene onto Canal Street, the victim noticed that her wallet was missing from her purse

A review of surveillance footage from the time of the incident showed the subject bumping into the victim and then removing what appeared to be the victim’s wallet from her purse before fleeing the scene.

The subject is described as the subject was described as a black male, standing about 6’0” and wearing a yellow polo-style shirt and dark jeans.
