NOPD Identifies Suspect Wanted for Possessing Stolen Gun during Shooting

The NOPD is looking to locate Denzel Shine (DOB: 9-4-1996) after he used a stolen gun during a shooting incident.

Shine was involved in a shooting at the intersection of Carter and Symmes Avenue on November 20, 2016 at around 10:30 p.m. During the course of the investigation, a Ruger 9mm handgun was found discarded near the subject’s vehicle. The investigation showed the Shine had a single gunshot wound to the leg but he denied being in possession of any firearms.

However, DNA testing revealed that Shine discarded the handgun which was reported stolen from Jefferson Parish.
