NOPD Arrests Suspect for Forgery, issuing Bad Checks

The NOPD has arrested Leonard Reed (DOB: 12-10-1981) for forgery and issuing worthless checks.

 

The victim reported that on June 8, 2017, Reed attempted to cash a fraudulent check at a business in the 7000 block of Read Boulevard. Alerted by the store’s fingerprint scanner, the manager reported that Reed had cashed fraudulent checks at the location on three previous occasions: May 24 ($608.72); May 29 ($709.28) and May 31 ($717.54).

 

Reed was arrested and charged with four counts of forgery, three counts of issuing worthless checks, one count of attempted issuing of worthless checks and one count of possession of stolen things.
