NOPD Continues to Seek Vehicle in Fatal Hit-and-Run Investigation

New Orleans - The New Orleans Police Department Traffic Fatality Unit is continuing to investigate a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at approximately 7:25 p.m., in the 3300 block of General Meyer Avenue.

According to investigators, the victim was walking in the area when he was struck by a gray-colored Nissan pickup truck. The driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid or notify authorities, leaving the victim seriously injured in the roadway. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators are continuing to actively search for the gray Nissan pickup truck pictured above and/or its owner/operator. The vehicle is believed to have sustained front-end damage as a result of the crash. Anyone who recognizes the vehicle, knows the identity of its owner/operator, or has information regarding its whereabouts is urged to contact investigators.
