The NOPD along with assistance from the U.S. Marshals, has arrested a suspect in the murder of a 34-year-old man earlier this month in the Seventh District.
Joshua Stewart, Black male DOB: 10/11/1986, was arrested early yesterday (July 16, 2025) after Homicide detectives positively identified him as the alleged perpetrator in a July 9, 2025 shooting that occurred in the 8000 Block of Trapier Street.
On the date, at about 4:17 p.m., Seventh District officers were called to the location. Upon arrival they discovered the victim who was shot multiple times. The victim was transported to the hospital by EMS, where he died a short time later.
The Orleans Parish Coroner later identified the victim as 34-year-old Armand Williams.
Through investigation, Homicide detectives identified Stewart as the perpetrator in the homicide and issued a second-degree murder warrant for his arrest on July 11, 2025.
Upon his arrest yesterday, (July 16, 2025), Stewart was transported to the Orleans Justice Center and booked accordingly.
