Subject Wanted For Felony Crimes

New Orleans Police are asking the public's assistance with locating a subject wanted for illegal possession of stolen things.

Wanted is Elias Vargas Islas (pictured), Hispanic male, DOB 08/09/1982.

According to investigators, the victim's home in the 4100 block of Iberville Street was broken into between 06/24/2024 and 06/25/2024. Property and the victim's vehicle were taken. On 06/27/2024, the wanted subject was in the 3000 block of Jackson Avenue when he attempted to sell the property taken in the burglary. The wanted subject was identified through investigation and an arrest warrant for him is on file.

Anyone with information about the crime or the wanted subject is asked to call Third District detectives at 504-658-6030 or to anonymously call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
