The NOPD is asking for the public's assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a burglary investigation in the Eighth District.
On July 18, 2023 at about 9:30 a.m., the victim reported that while at a business parking lot in the 200 block of Poydras, a subject walked up to the front front passenger door of his vehicle and grabbed a purse from the front passenger seat before quickly fleeing the scene.
Through investigation, detectives identified Darrell Smith, (pictured, black male, DOB: 09-21-1964) as the perpetrator in this incident. An arrest warrant has been issued for Smith relative to simple burglary.
