The NOPD is investigating a traffic crash that occurred today (July 1, 2023) at the intersection of Pritchard Place and Dublin Street that left one person dead and a second injured.
At about 2:33 p.m., NOPD Second District officers responded to a call of a vehicle crash with injury at the location. Through further investigation, it was determined that a male driver was traveling westbound on Pritchard Place at a high rate of speed when he disregarded a stop sign at the intersection with Dublin Street. As he entered the intersection, he was struck by a vehicle traveling on Dublin Street through the same intersection. The driver of the westbound vehicle was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the second vehicle, also a male, was transported to a local hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.
