NOPD Seeking Suspect, Person and Vehicles of Interest in Fourth District Armed Carjacking

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating a wanted subject, a person of interest, vehicles of interest and a vehicle reported stolen in the ongoing investigation of an armed carjacking on June 30, 2021 at the intersection of General DeGaulle and Shirley drives.

Just before noon, the victim was reportedly involved in a vehicle crash with an unknown female subject in the center lane. As the female subject was assessing damage between the two vehicles, an armed unknown male suspect approached the victim on foot and demanded the victim exit her vehicle. The victim complied and the male suspect fled in the victim's vehicle, described as a black 2014 Toyota Camry bearing Louisiana license plate YMC104 (not pictured). The female suspect fled in her vehicle in an unknown direction.

The victim’s vehicle was said to have been damaged to the rear driver side bumper and quarter panel in the collision.

The pictured unknown black male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and khaki pants is wanted as the suspected perpetrator in this incident. He is described as being dark complected with a slight beard, medium build, appx. 5’10”.

The pictured unknown black female is sought for questioning only at this time, as she is considered to be a person of interest in this investigation. The subject was driving the pictured silver sedan, which was involved in the crash and is also sought as a vehicle of interest.

A second pictured vehicle of interest – described as a dark-colored Infiniti sedan – is also sought in this investigation. The driver of the vehicle is sought for questioning as a person of interest.

Anyone with additional information on this incident or the involved subjects and/or vehicles is asked to contact NOPD Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
