NOPD Investigates Homicide, Shooting in Fourth District

NOPD officers are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead and another woman injured in the 1400 block of Shirley Drive.

At around 1:33 a.m. on Tuesday (July 13), Fourth District detectives responded to reports of shots fired at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The adult male was pronounced dead on scene, and the adult female was transported to the hospital by EMS.

Investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
