NOPD Arrests Suspect in Homicide Investigation

On July 27, 2021, the NOPD arrested Robert J. Scott (pictured, black male, DOB; 06-18-1990) in the investigation of the homicide of Daquan Fountain, which occurred on June 28, 2021 in the 4000 block of Ulloa Street.

At about 4:04 a.m., NOPD First District officers responded to the area for a call of shots fired. Upon arrival, units discovered one male victim in the 4000 block of Ulloa Street suffering from a gunshot wound. A second male victim was located soon after near the intersection of Tulane and South Carrollton Avenues and having also sustained a gunshot wound.

The first victim was transported via EMS to local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office later identified this victim as Daquan Fountain. The second victim was also transported via EMS to a local hospital. A third male victim in this incident was not injured.

Through investigation, NOPD Homicide Unit detectives developed Scott as a suspect and positively identified him as the perpetrator. An arrest warrant was obtained for Scott on one count of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Detectives learned that Scott had been arrested and was being held in Webster Parish, La. He was extradited back to New Orleans, where he was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center accordingly.
