NOPD Arrests Suspect in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD has arrested Alvin Severin Jr. (pictured, black male, DOB: 12-15-2001) in the investigation of a homicide on July 19, 2021 in the 5000 block of De Bore Circle.

At around 5:05 p.m., Third District officers were notified about a person in need of help at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene and the classification was changed to a homicide.

Officers apprehended an adult male, later identified as Severin, at the scene. Through investigation, detectives positively identified Severin as the perpetrator and obtained an arrest warrant on a charge of second-degree murder. Severin was arrested and booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
