NOPD Announces Significant Violent Crime Arrests, Clearances Between July 4-10

NEW ORLEANS – Listed below are significant arrests or clearances through warrants or exception obtained between July 4-10, 2021 in investigations by the NOPD:

Shootings

  • On July 10, 2021, NOPD Seventh District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for a known male suspect for aggravated battery by shooting. The incident occurred at the intersection of Loyola and Gravier streets on July 8.
  • On July 9, 2021, NOPD Eighth District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Jerel Awotwi Allen (not pictured, black male, DOB: 10-04-1984) for aggravated battery by shooting. The incident occurred in the 7300 block of Chef Menteur Highway on July 9.
  • On July 6, 2021, NOPD Seventh District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Allen Christen Carter (pictured, black male, DOB: 11-01-2000) for aggravated battery by shooting. The incident occurred in the 12100 block of North I-10 Service Road on July 4.
  • On July 6, 2021, NOPD Sixth District officers arrested a 15-year-old juvenile male for aggravated battery by shooting.  The incident occurred at the intersection of South Saratoga & Bordeaux streets on July 6.
  • On July 5, 2021 NOPD Fourth District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Kenneth Zeno (not pictured, black male, DOB: 10-14-1998) for aggravated battery by shooting. The incident occurred at the intersection of L.B. Landry Avenue and General DeGaulle Drive on July 5.

Armed Robbery

  • On July 10, NOPD Fourth District detectives obtained an arrest warrant for a known female suspect for principal to armed robbery with a firearm. The incident occurred at the intersection of General DeGaulle Drive and Shirley Drive on June 30.
