NOPD Investigating Homicide in the Sixth District

New Orleans - The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (July 26, 2020) in the Sixth District.

At around 11:48 a.m., Sixth District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting at the intersection of Fourth Street and South Claiborne Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers discovered one male victim (DOB:12/6/91) suffering from a gunshot wound(s).  He was transported to the hospital by EMS where he succumbed to his injuries. 

The initial investigation has determined that a traffic accident occurred between two vehicles.  A male subject in one of the vehicles exited his car, shot the victim and fled the scene.  No further information is available for release at this time. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim’s name, upon completion of an autopsy and notification of family.
