NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred during the early hours today (July 16, 2020) in the 12100 block of I-10 Service Road.

At about 3:24 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a unresponsive adult female victim with multiple gunshot wounds lying outside the front doorway of a residence. The victim was declared dead at the scene, at which time NOPD Homicide Unit detectives assumed control of the investigation.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
