NOPD Investigates Homicide, Shooting on A. P. Tureaud Avenue

NOPD is investigating a homicide that took place near the intersection of A.P. Tureaud Avenue and North Tonti Street.

Tonight, July 28, 2020 at around 6:36 p.m., Fifth district officers learned that two adult male victims with gunshot wound(s) had arrived at a local hospital by private conveyance. One victim later died from his injuries. Officers then discovered the location of occurrence was A.P. Tureaud Avenue and North Tonti Street. Upon arrival, officers located a white vehicle with multiple bullet holes that was parked near the corner. Investigation into this incident is ongoing.

Investigators are in the process of gathering information that will help them identify a person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No further information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
