The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Kyrease James (DOB: 04-15-1997) in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred on June 22, 2019 in the 1200 block of North I-10 Service Road.
Through investigation, NOPD Seventh District detectives determined that the victim and James were involved in a verbal altercation which turned physical when the victim reportedly punched James in the face. James then allegedly became upset, produced a firearm and shot the victim in the leg before fleeing the scene.
When located, James will be charged with aggravated battery and illegal discharge of a weapon
