NOPD Seeking Subjects in Third District Attempted Auto Theft
The NOPD is seeking to locate and identify three subjects in the investigation of an attempted auto theft incident that occurred in the 2800 block of Elysian Fields Avenue on July 9, 2019.

NOPD Third District officers responded to an initial call of simple criminal damage to property at the location. However, the signal was changed to an attempted auto theft after further investigation.

The reporting person told police that when she arrived at the location at about 6:00 a.m. on July 10, she noticed two City of New Orleans vehicles with unknown damage. One of the vehicles had reportedly been moved from its original location.

A review of video surveillance showed three unknown black males scale the perimeter fence and enter the property. The subjects were then seen entering the aforementioned vehicle which was moved and attempted to drive away, but crashed into another vehicle. The subjects then exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact NOPD Third District detectives at 504-658-6030, or call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
