UPDATE: The NOPD has arrested Santos Arce (DOB; 12-17-1997) in the investigation of an aggravated assault that occurred in the 100 block of Carondelet Street on July 24, 2019.

ORIGINAL RELEASE: The NOPD is seeking to locate and identify a subject in the investigation of an aggravated assault that occurred in the 100 block of Carondelet Street on July 24, 2019.

At approximately 9:18 a.m., the pictured male subject was seen entering a business located in the 100 block of Carondelet Street and attempted to purchase a pack of cigarettes, at which time the subject was asked to show his identification. The subject then reportedly became irate with the employee and was requested to leave the business. The subject allegedly refused to leave. As an employee attempted to escort the subject out, the subject reportedly retrieved a knife from his backpack and held it at his side, pointing down. The male subject then allegedly wielded the knife at the employee and threatened the employee before exiting the store and fleeing on foot down Common Street towards St. Charles Avenue.

The subject appeared to be a Hispanic male with long black hair in a ponytail and black moustache, clad in a black Chicago Bulls cap turned backwards, red and white short-sleeved shirt, gray sweatpants and a gray backpack.
