The NOPD is investigating a homicide by shooting that occurred tonight (July 3, 2019) at the intersection of Curran Boulevard and Rochon Street.
At about 9:26 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to an area hospital via EMS, where he later died.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
