NOPD Arrests Juvenile Suspect in Seventh District Armed Robbery

The NOPD has arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male in the investigation of an attempted armed robbery that occurred on July 19, 2019 in the 7600 block of Forum Boulevard.

At about 9:12 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a reported aggravated battery by shooting. Upon further investigation, the signal for the incident was changed to an attempted armed robbery. Initial reports show two unknown black males, one of which reportedly armed, attempted to rob the victim at gunpoint. The victim reportedly used his own weapon to fire at the armed suspect, before both suspects fled the scene.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that a 16-year-old juvenile male arrived at a local hospital via private conveyance for treatment of a gunshot wound. The juvenile was later determined to have been one of the two suspects in this incident and was also determined to be the alleged armed perpetrator.

The subject was arrested without incident and booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
