NOPD officers have arrested Vincent Piazza (DOB: 04/18/1975) in connection with a simple burglary and theft incident that occurred in the Sixth District.

The victim told police on Saturday, May 19, 2018, he last observed his guitar inside of his residence, located in the 1400 block of South Gayoso Street. On Monday, May 21, 2018, the victim discovered his guitar was missing from his residence.

During the course of the investigation, officers learned that Piazza pawned the victim’s guitar at a pawn shop, located in the 3600 block of Airline Drive. Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Piazza relative to simple burglary and theft by fraud.

On Wednesday, July 11, 2018, Sixth District officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle for a non-functioning brake light, near the intersection of Constance and Constantinople streets. Officers conducted a name check on Piazza, which revealed an arrest warrant for the subject, in connection with the aforementioned incident.

The subject was also wanted by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Kenner Police Department for theft and receiving stolen property. 

Piazza was arrested and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center, where he was booked accordingly.
