NOPD Arrests Three Subjects in Third District Auto Theft

The NOPD arrested three subjects in connection with stolen vehicle in the Third District.

 

On July 18, 2018 at 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a suspicious persons call in the 5000 block of Frenchmen Street. The caller described a light colored SUV with three males in the area. Upon arriving in the area three males were located in the 2100 block of Timoleon Street.

 

While conducting the investigation, the officers located a silver Grand Cherokee which was later discovered to be stolen from the 900 block of Robert E. Lee Boulevard on July 15, 2018. Further investigation revealed the subjects to be in possession of the keys to the vehicle and property belonging to one of the subjects inside of the stolen vehicle.

 

Upon viewing surveillance video, investigators were able to identify one of the subjects, Donovan Mitchell, as one of the subjects captured on the surveillance footage stealing the vehicle. All three subjects below were taken into custody and charged accordingly.
