UPDATED: Suspect Arrested for Robbing Woman at Church on MacArthur Boulevard

The NOPD has arrested Wade Gaines (DOB: 3/1/1963) for this incident.  Gaines walked into the Fourth District station after seeing his picture in the media. He was then questioned and arrested for simple robbery.

NOPD is looking for a suspect who robbed a woman inside a church in the 3700 block of MacArthur Boulevard.

 

The victim reported that on July 27, 2017, at approximately 9:35 a.m., an unknown black male entered the church and asked her for money.  When she told him that she didn’t have any, he reached into the victim’s pockets and took her cash. He then fled the location.

 

The perpetrator is described as a black male in his mid to late 50s with a dark complexion, a medium build and extremely short hair. He was wearing a red shirt with white stripes, blue jean shorts and blue tennis shoes.
