NOPD Investigates Homicide, Double Shooting on Vallette Street

NOPD Investigates Homicide, Double Shooting on Vallette Street

The NOPD is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 800 block of Vallette Street.

At around 7:18 p.m., Fourth District officers responded to a shooting in the area. Once on scene, officers discovered a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a home in the area. She was pronounced dead on scene by EMS. Officers also located a second victim suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital by EMS.

Through the course of the investigation, officers learned both female victims were involved in an altercation.

Investigators are still in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify a person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
