NOPD Arrests Suspect in Theft on Old Gentilly Road
The NOPD today (July 27, 2017) quickly arrested John Liverly (DOB: 07-31-1961) as he reportedly attempted to flee the scene of a theft in the 9200 block of Old Gentilly Road.

At about 10:15 a.m., Seventh District officers responded to a call of a residential burglary in the area. Upon arrival, the officers observed an unknown white male – later identified as Liverly – attempting to flee the location in a pickup truck. After stopping the vehicle and upon further inspection, officers discovered Liverly had crossed over a cable which acted as a gate, and had apparently stolen piping and pipe fittings from the location.

Liverly was arrested at the scene and will be booked into Central Lockup on a charge of felony theft.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070. Citizens with information that can help solve crimes are asked to call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at 1-877-903-STOP.
