The NOPD has arrested David Moore (DOB: 2-9-1981) for weapons and narcotics violations.
The department’s Seventh District Task Force conducted an undercover narcotics investigation that identified David Moore as a suspect for the distribution of illegal narcotics. NOPD obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 14000 block of Chef Menteur Highway and executed it on July 7, 2017. Moore fled the scene in a vehicle that he later abandoned at the intersection of Michoud Boulevard and Chef Menteur Highway. He was then observed fleeing into an area of thick brush and trees, so NOPD officers set up a perimeter and began conducting a search of the area. Moore was located hiding in some bushes.
A follow up search of the original location and of Moore revealed two grams of crack cocaine packaged for distribution, Xanax pills, narcotics scales, U.S. currency, multiple rounds of ammunition and a loaded .380 caliber handgun. A ledger was also found documenting narcotics transactions. Moore was arrested for possession of illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm while in possession of illegal narcotics.
Anyone with additional information regarding this suspect is asked to contact the Seventh District at 504-658-6070, or call the NOPD non-emergency number at 504-821-2222.
