Juvenile Arrested for Armed Robbery on Dreux & Rhodes

NOPD Seventh District officers have arrested a 14- year-old male for armed robbery with a firearm on Monday, July 24, 2017.

The victim told police he and the arrested juvenile subject met up at around 3:30 p.m. on Monday to purchase candy. After the purchase, the two then walked toward a playground at the corner of Dreux Avenue and Rhodes Drive. While sitting on playground equipment, the victim told police the juvenile suspect then pulled out a firearm and demanded money from his friend.

The victim told police he was unsure if his friend was serious. However, the arrested  juvenile went into the victim’s pockets, removed $11 in cash and fled the area on foot. The juvenile was apprehended shortly after the armed robbery in the 7600 block of Alabama Street where he was positively identified as the perpetrator. 

He was then transported to the Juvenile Detention Center and booked with armed robbery with a firearm.
