NOPD Investigates Homicide at Belleville and Homer Streets

NOPD Investigates Homicide at Belleville and Homer Streets

NOPD is investigating a double shooting that left one man dead and another injured.

 

At approximately 9 p.m. tonight (Jan. 10), Fourth District officers responded to a call of a shooting at Belleville and Homer streets. Upon arrival they found two male victims inside of a white Dodge Stratus that had come to rest against a telephone pole on Belleville Street. Both victims were suffering from gunshot wounds and were transported to University Medical Center.

 

The passenger in the car died at the hospital from his injuries and the 20-year-old driver is believed to have suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

 

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the name of the deceased victim and the official cause of death.
