Today the NOPD VOWS Unit arrested Maurice Evans (DOB: 7/14/82) for first degree rape and second degree kidnapping.
The incident, which involved a 17-year-old female, took place on December 25, 2016, in the 3100 block of North Roman Street. Evans was apprehended in the 1500 block of Esplanade Avenue earlier today (Jan. 11). Evans was also arrested for additional charges including municipal charges of criminal damage to property / criminal trespassing, and a parole violation for narcotics.
