The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the Fifth District.
Around 1:33 a.m. Fifth District officers responded to a call reporting a man down in the 1600 block of Marigny Street. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim died at the scene.
No further information is available at this time.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will determine official cause of death and release the victims’ names upon completion of autopsy and notification of families.
