NOPD Investigates Shooting That leaves One Dead, Three Wounded

The NOPD is investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning (January 24, 2024) that left one victim dead and three wounded in the Fourth District.

Two other victims, one an adult male, and one juvenile male, showed up at a local hospital by private conveyance to be treated for gunshot wounds. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. 

Another victim, also a juvenile male, was located at Greenspoint Drive and transported to a local hospital by EMS with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.

Homicide detective Michael Haynes is in charge of this ongoing investigation.
