The NOPD is investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning (January 24, 2024) that left one victim dead and three wounded in the Fourth District.
At about 1:15 a.m., NOPD Fourth District officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired and a shot person at the location. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, an unidentified adult male, in a vehicle suffering from at least one gunshot wound. EMS arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
Two other victims, one an adult male, and one juvenile male, showed up at a local hospital by private conveyance to be treated for gunshot wounds. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Another victim, also a juvenile male, was located at Greenspoint Drive and transported to a local hospital by EMS with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
