Person of Interest Sought for Questioning in Fifth District Shooting Investigation

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating a subject identified as a person of interest in the ongoing investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting on January 6, 2022 at the intersection of Alvar Street and Florida Avenue.

Through investigation, NOPD Fifth District detectives have developed and identified Wendell Jones (pictured, black male, DOB: 05-31-1993) as a person of interest. Jones is not currently wanted on criminal charges in this investigation but is sought for questioning as detectives believed he has knowledge of vital information.
