The NOPD has arrested Don J. Tropez Sr. (pictured, black male, DOB: 09-04-1954) in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting on January 19, 2022 in the 2400 block of Mexico Street.
Through investigation, NOPD Third District detectives determined that the victim and Tropez were involved in an argument. During the argument, Tropez allegedly produced a handgun and shot the victim multiple times. The victim was transported to a local hospital via New Orleans EMS.
Tropez was arrested on scene without incident. He was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on one count of second-degree aggravated battery.
