NOPD Identifies Suspect Wanted for Aggravated Battery of Police Officer, Flight from Officer in Fourth District

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Antonio Rashed Morgan (pictured, black male, DOB: 08-04-2000) in an incident stemming from a traffic stop on January 19, 2022 at the intersection of Woodland Highway and Tullis Drive.

At about 5:07 a.m., NOPD Fourth District officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the location. Morgan was identified as the driver of the vehicle – a gray Nissan Altima with no license plate. The officers conducted a name check on Morgan and learned that he was wanted for an aggravated assault with a firearm and multiple municipal attachments. The officers attempted to detain Morgan and place him under arrest. At that time, Morgan resisted by fighting the officers. The subject then accelerated and struck one of the officers with the vehicle before fleeing the location.

Anyone with additional information on this incident or on Antonio Rashed Morgan’s whereabouts is asked to contact NOPD Fourth District detectives at 504-658-6040 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
