The NOPD has arrested Travis Seals (pictured at left, black male, DOB: 03-27-1991) and Jamaur Johnson (pictured at center, black male, DOB: 07-20-19988) and have obtained an arrest warrant for Darnell Phonenix (pictured, black male, DOB; 01-18-1995) in the ongoing investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting incident on December 20, 2021 in the 1500 block of Delachaise Street.

At about 3:15 PM, NOPD Sixth District officers and detectives responded to multiple reports of gunfire in the 1500 block of Delachaise Street. Responding officers, with the assistance of Touro Infirmary Security officers, apprehended and arrested Seals and Johnson following the shooting.

Upon investigation, detectives determined that an exchange of gunfire occurred between two parties. Further investigation led detectives to identify Phoenix as also being involved in the incident and as having fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

Seals was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for possession of a firearm by a felon. Johnson was booked for aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a felon and for illegal discharge of a firearm during a violent crime.

Phoenix is currently wanted on a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon.
