Crimestoppers Tip Leads to Suspect Arrested for Traffic Fatality

Members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Traffic Fatality Unit responded to a Crimestoppers tip and booked 29-year-old Rodolfo Gonzales with one count of Felony Hit and Run with Death. Rodolfo Gonzales was apprehended Friday, January 14, 2022, shortly after 8:00 P.M., in the 6300 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

Emergency Medical Technicians arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died.

Throughout the course of the investigation, the Traffic Fatality detectives determined that the two-tone dark colored and tan Ford Expedition was traveling against the flow of traffic in the 100 block of Bourbon Street and struck the pedestrian.

As a result of the assistance from the public and media, the suspect was apprehended.
