NOPD Investigates Domestic Homicide in Fifth District

The NOPD is investigating a domestic homicide that occurred Tuesday morning (Jan. 12) in the 3100 block of North Claiborne Avenue.

At around 1:04 a.m., Fifth District officers responded to reports of a fight at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered one adult male with no signs of life. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

Investigators are in the process of gathering information that will help them identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No further information is currently available.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
