NOPD Continues Search for Suspect, Person of Interest in 2018 Homicide

The NOPD continues to search for the pictured suspect and pictured person of interest, both sought in the ongoing investigation of the homicide of Russell Teal on February 5, 2018 in the 1400 block of Governor Nicholls Street.

In the early morning hours of February 5, 2018, the victim – later identified as Teal – was found dead in the 1400 block of Governor Nicholls Street. An autopsy determined Teal’s death was a homicide.

As a result of the follow-up investigation, investigators have developed the two pictured unknown male subjects. The subject in the black and white jacket is believed to be the perpetrator, while the subject with the red backpack is considered a person of interest sought for questioning only.

Anyone with additional information on this incident or the pictured subject and/or person of interest is asked to contact NOPD Homicide Unit Cold Case Detective Ryan Aucoin at 504-658-5300 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
