NOPD Investigating Homicide in Second District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred today (January 10, 2020) near the intersection of Burthe and Hillary Streets in the Second District. 

At around 1:48 a.m., Tulane Police officers heard shots fired in the area of Burthe and Hillary Streets. When officers responded, they discovered one adult male in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. NOPD was notified at 1:51 a.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no further details at this time. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine an official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
