UPDATE: This release has been updated to reflect an additional suspect sought in this investigation.
The NOPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the pictured subjects, who are accused of being in possession of a vehicle that was reported stolen from the 2600 block of Jasmine Street.
The victim told police that around 7:08 a.m. on January 14, 2019, she left her vehicle unlocked and running with the keys inside. Around 7:12 a.m. the same day, the victim returned to the location and discovered her vehicle was missing from the area.
The victim reportedly used a GPS and tracked her vehicle to a nearby gas station located in the 7200 block of Haynes Boulevard. Shortly afterward, the victim tracked her vehicle and learned that it was stationary inside of an apartment complex located in the 6200 block of Morrison Road.
During the investigation, officers canvased the apartment complex and located the victim’s stolen vehicle. Officers then relocated to the 7200 block of Haynes Boulevard to review surveillance video and observed the victim’s vehicle arrive at the location around 10:05 a.m. on the above date. An unknown black male subject wearing a blue or purple shirt was observed exiting the victim's vehicle. The subject entered the gas station then returned to the vehicle and fled the scene.
On January 24, detectives released a photo of a second unknown black male also sought in this investigation.
