NOPD Searches for Suspect in Attempted Unarmed Carjacking Incident

The NOPD is seeking assistance in identifying and locating the pictured subject after he was accused of being involved in an attempted unarmed carjacking incident that occurred in the Eighth District.

The victim told police that around 10:10 a.m. on January 19, 2019, she was paying the parking meter after she parked her car in front of a restaurant located in the 100 block of Chartres Street and she noticed an unknown male subject standing on the curb. 

The subject reportedly turned towards the victim and demanded her car keys. The victim stated that she felt intimated and immediately got into her vehicle and locked the doors. The subject reportedly started to approach the victim’s vehicle, at which time the victim drove off and observed the subject chasing behind her vehicle.

The perpetrator is described as a black male, in his early 20’s, wearing a black beanie, a black jacket with a Saints logo and black pants.
