The NOPD is searching for those responsible for a vehicle burglary and subsequent vehicle theft incident that occurred on January 18, 2019 in the 3500 block of Mandeville Street.

The victim told NOPD Third District officers that he arrived at his residence at about 6:00 p.m. in possession of a gray 2016 Kia four-door vehicle belonging to his aunt, who was reported to be out of town. At about 6:30 p.m., the victim said, he heard an alarm activate for another vehicle at the residence. When he exited, the victim said, he saw a gray Nissan Rogue driving off with a group of unknown males inside. The victim also found his grandfather’s vehicle, described as a black four-door 2004 Mercury Grand Marquise, missing from the location. The victim stated he left his house keys and keys to the Mercury vehicle inside of the Kia.

Further investigation by officers revealed broken glass on the ground near where the Mercury vehicle was reportedly parked, as well as debris on the ground consistent with a vehicle crash.
