NOPD Arrests Suspect for Illegal Firearm Possession on Bourbon Street

The NOPD arrested Thomas Ansonia (DOB: 01-02-1997) for illegal possession of a firearm in an incident that occurred in the 400 block of Bourbon Street on January 27, 2019.

At about 4:25 a.m., NOPD Eighth District officers were flagged down by the manager of a bar in the area concerning a subject who had attempted to enter the establishment while concealing a firearm. The officers apprehended the subject, later identified as Ansonia , and found him in in possession of  a loaded handgun concealed in his jacket. Ansonia was found to not have a concealed carry permit.  The subject was transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center and booked for illegal possession of a firearm.
