ARRESTED: Suspect Apprehended by NOPD for Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Resisting Arrest

NOPD officers have arrested Christopher Spruill (DOB: 11-11-1983) after he was found in possession of a stolen vehicle.

On January 22, 2019, around 11 p.m., Seventh District officers were patrolling the area when they observed a black Honda sitting in an empty lot near the intersection of Ransom and Virgilian streets. Officers approached the vehicle and observed the subject inside the vehicle. The subject reportedly exited the vehicle and explained that he was just parked listening to music.

Officers conducted a license plate check and learned that the vehicle was reported stolen hours earlier during a residential burglary in the 40 block of Allard Boulevard where the victim’s keys were taken during the incident.

As the officer attempted to approach the subject he fled on foot and jumped over a nearby fence. Officers then set up a perimeter in the area and were able to apprehend the subject in the 4400 block of Francis Drive. Spruill was transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center and booked accordingly.

Anyone with any additional information regarding this incident should contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070.
