ARRESTED: NOPD Quickly Apprehends Subject for Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm

NOPD officers have arrested Elliot Cobbins (DOB: 01/26/1991) after he was found in possession of a stolen firearm in the Eighth District.

On December 29, 2018, at or around 12:15 a.m., NOPD officers were on patrol in the 100 block of Bourbon Street when they were informed by a pedestrian that a subject was in possession of a firearm.

During the investigation, officers located the subject, at which time the subject reportedly dropped the firearm and fled the area on foot. The subject was shortly apprehended near the intersection of Canal and Rampart streets.

Upon further investigation, officers learned that Cobbins is also a convicted felon. Cobbins was transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center, where he was booked with illegal carrying of a weapon by a convicted felon and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.
