Two Convicted Felons Found in Possession of Multiple Drugs & Two Firearms

Officers in the Fifth District arrested Jamarr Smith (DOB: 8-28-95) and Corey Fields (DOB: 9-10-90) after they were found in possession of multiple drugs and two firearms on January 18, 2018.

At around 10:38 p.m., Fifth District officers were patrolling in the 2100 block of Almonaster Avenue when they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Officers discovered the vehicle was occupied by Corey Fields and Jamarr Smith.

Through the course of the investigation, officers confiscated two firearms, crack cocaine, alprazolam pills and marijuana during the stop.  Officers arrested Corey Fields for being a convicted felon while in possession of a firearm, possessing the firearm in the presence of illegal narcotics and possession of alprazolam pills.

The second occupant, identified as Jamarr Smith, was also arrested for being a convicted felon while in possession of a firearm, possessing a firearm while possessing an illegal narcotic and possession of crack cocaine.
