Suspect Wanted in Carjacking Incident in Fifth District

The NOPD is seeking assistance from the public with locating and identifying a suspect who is wanted for his involvement in a carjacking incident that happened on Thursday, (Jan. 4).

The victim told police she parked the vehicle bearing Louisiana license plate# YRJ091 in the 6100 block of St. Claude Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. The victim relocated to a store in the area. She then returned to her vehicle, at which time she was approached by an unknown man who struggled with her over the keys to her vehicle. The suspect took the keys and entered the vehicle heading east on St. Claude Avenue.

Carjacking

Louisiana law states that Individuals convicted of carjacking shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than two years and for not more than 20 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
