The NOPD is investigating a homicide that to place in the 7000 block of Salem Drive on Thursday (Jan 18).
At around 8:26 p.m., Seventh District officers responded to a call of a vehicle that crashed into an occupied residence. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim inside of a white Ford pick-up truck suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s). The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
No one inside the residence was injured.
Investigators are still currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
